Cuplock Scaffolding System
We at Wuxi Dynast supply high-quality Cuplock Scaffolding Systems for global contractors, rental companies, industrial facilities, and formwork specialists. Our modular Cuplock / Cup & Blade scaffolding is designed for durability, safety, ease of erection, and export.
Cuplock scaffolding is a modular system scaffold made from high-strength steel tubes with a unique cup-and-blade locking mechanism. This design allows quick, secure, and rigid connections between vertical standards and horizontal ledgers without the need for loose fittings such as nuts and bolts.
Developed originally by SGB (UK), the Cuplock system has become one of the most widely used scaffolding systems worldwide because of its simplicity, versatility, and safety in construction, industrial maintenance, and infrastructure projects.
How Cuplock Scaffolding Works?
The Cuplock system is named after its distinctive “cup” locking node:
• Each vertical standard has cups welded at regular intervals (typically every 500 mm).
• The horizontal ledger or transom ends have blades that fit into the lower cup.
• Once all blades are positioned, the top cup is rotated and locked with a hammer blow - creating a strong and rigid joint.
• This wedge-free, bolt-free design speeds up assembly and dismantling, saving labor and time on site.
Scaffolding Cuplock System Key Advantages & Benefits
Rapid Assembly & Dismantling
Because of its cup-and-blade locking mechanism, Cuplock scaffolding can be erected / dismantled much faster than traditional tube & fitting systems. This means labour cost savings and faster project turnaround.
Structural Stability & High Load-Bearing Capacity
Node points enable strong, rigid connections. The vertical standards bear loads axially. Ideal for supporting formwork, facades, heavy duty loads.
Versatility & Modular Design
Can form single or double row scaffolds, mobile scaffolding, birdcage scaffolds, staircase access towers, cantilever / brackets for overhangs. Flexibility in height and shape.
Safety & Compliance
Fewer loose parts reduces risk of failure; locking mechanism is self-locking. Complies with international standards EN12810 / EN12811, ISO, CE etc. Safety accessories (guardrails, toeboards) available.
Durability & Low Maintenance
Hot-dip galvanization / quality steel means resistance to corrosion. Components are reusable across projects; system withstands harsh weather and heavy use.
Cost-Effectiveness over Lifecycle
Although initial investment may be higher than simple tube & clamp scaffolding, long term savings arise from labour reduction, fewer replacement parts, less maintenance, reusability.

FAQ
Q: Is Cuplock compatible with tube & fitting scaffolding?
A: The node-cup-and-blade mechanism is different: ledgers and transoms in Cuplock have forged blade ends to fit fixed bottom cup, so direct mixing with tube & clamp may require adapters. A better plan is to use full system or compatible components.
Q: Can you provide test reports / certifications?
A: Yes, material certificates, load / fatigue tests, dimensional reports, surface treatment reports are available.
